The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has urged leaders to always speak the truth to the people at all times for credibility in governance and welfare of the people.
He described the Deputy President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as a liar.
Omo-Agege had on Sunday at Ugheli accused Okowa of mismanaging the economy of the state.
But speaking on Monday while receiving the All Progressives Congress leaders and members from Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party at the Government House, Asaba, the governor stated that as leaders, the onus was on them to speak truth to their followers and not to tell them lies because of quest for political power.
Okowa said he was disappointed in the lawmaker’s comment on his administration in Delta.
