POI led a powerful delegation of the National and state APC executive council, party leaders and top government functionaries to the funeral rites of Captain Hosa Okunbor,
Late Captain Hosa Okunbo gave up the ghost at the age of 63 years.
He was a devoted christian, a businessman, community leader and above all an unequalled, unparalleled and unmatched cultural ambassador of the Benin kingdom.
The burial ceremony attracted people from all walks of life.
The atmosphere was more of a political carnival as the CAPPY of the Universe and Edo billionaire, his Son and POI played host to creme de la of society including the host Governor, Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, Obaseki’s counterpart from Lagos, Ogun and Kebbi States; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Atiku Bagudu respectively.
Others were two daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari; Halima and Zara and their husbands. former governors of Edo, Delta, Gombe and Borno States; Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Chief James Ibori, Hassan Dakwambo Alli Modu Sheriff respectively.
From the Royalty came the representatives of the Oba of Benin and the Olu of Warri, who is the son-in-law to the late Okunbo.
POI also attended the ceremony and was seen visibly in high spirit fraternizing with dignitaries, political leaders, chieftains and top government officials.
The chief mourner could not bear the pains of his father's exit and momentarily broke down in tears while eulogizing his father for his inestimable love, mentorship and friendship while he was alive.
Captain Hosa Okunbo is greatly love by all and sundry for his visionary leadership, philanthropism and invaluable contributions to the development of Edo State and Nigeria.
Captain Hosa Okunbo is well known for his power of oratory, intelligence, uncommon humility and philanthropy.
It follows that the family of Captain Hosa Okunbo and the good people of Edo State practically witnessed and felt the outpouring of love and appreciation due to them as a result of and Captain Hosa Okunbo's examplary life and legacy.
It was indeed a unique ceremony that will not be forgotten by Edolites and Nigerians in general.
